We had a fun event on February 11th : Chili Cook-Off Competition & Beer Sampling!

Eleven competitors (Ashley Bezuidenhout, Simon Bezuidenhout, Gerald Byron, Jeremy Heck, Dori Heck, Josh Heuchert, Donna Hunter, Mike Leonhart, Sylvia Moore, Scott & Kenneth Olafson, and Curtis Steinolfson) submitted their best chili to be sampled and judged by the local crowd.

Notice how some of those last names were the same?

We had friendly competitions between husbands vs wives, father vs daughter, men vs women, and neighbor vs neighbor!

It was a fun event with lots of laughs and sense of community.

The chili's ranged from savory, sweet, 5 alarm hot, and standard with some very unique flavors! White Chicken Chili, Chocolate Lamb, Pumpkin Chili, and Green Chilies just to name a few.

We also had some beer to sample from local establishments and breweries!

Jeremy is our community's meat smoking extraordinaire and did not disappoint with his chili. He included some of his specialty meat and won over the most votes to collect the

cash prize and bragging rights! We hope to make this an annual event as we all had so much fun!
