The park board had two options to choose from for park designs. A viking ship theme or a more basic design, with more active play space.

The community was asked to vote on the two designs and while the votes were pretty close in numbers, the option you see above was the ultimate winner. It was decided that the more basic design would give more active play options for a better range of children, have better visibility for parents, and is also more cost effective.
